Temperature sensor for fuel-cell (SOFC)

Carbon dioxide (CO2), which is one of the causes of global warming, is emitted when fossil fuels such as petroleum and coal are used as energy. Hydrogen is expected to be the next generation of energy that does not emit CO2. Fuel cell systems are one of the key factors in realizing a hydrogen-based society. They are capable of producing electricity and heat using hydrogen. They are required to function reliably in accordance with the climate of each country and the life cycle of each household, and require products with a long life, low price, and high reliability.

Features

Fuel cell systems, which are directly connected to the lives of homes, are required to be durable so that they can function well even for long periods of time. While solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems are highly efficient. They operate at temperatures as high as 700°C, making them a strict environment for use with temperature sensors. We have developed a thermocouple (ADthermic®) that generates less trouble, such as temperature drifting and disconnection, even during long-term use. In the manufacturing process, seal welding of sheath tips and hot-junction welding, which were conventionally done by hand, are carried out with an automatic welding machine to supply products of stable quality with little variation for commercial mass-produced products.

“ADthermic” is a registered trademark of Yamari Industries, Limited. (registered trademark 5982090).
